Edward Prah, A Play in Gold

Kwamo, Kumasi, Ghana. 8 February - 23 February 2024

The project explores the concept of disco balls, known for reflecting light, by designing objects that similarly project light outward into space. Influenced by deteriorated photographic materials, the project reimagines architectural space through light and sound..

  • A Play in Gold poses questions and interrogates the nature and function of images. It becomes a reflective extension, drawing attention to the silent imagery that speaks to the archive as a whole, granting us permission to assess what the material conditions of the archive could offer (Meillassoux, 2008).
